The Firex 465 smoke alarm is an ionization 9V battery powered smoke alarm. These units have an 85 decibel horn, test switch, low battery signal, and a lighted power/alarm LED indicator (except 461); the LED flashes once per minute indicating it is receiving power. All smoke alarms should be replaced every 10 years.
